Dr. Mengmeng Gu is currently a Professor and Department Head of the Department of Horticulture & Landscape Architecture at Colorado State University. Before transitioning to her current role, Dr. Gu was an Associate Professor/Ornamental Extension Specialist in the Department of Horticultural Sciences at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in College Station, TX. She was the liaison between Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Texas Nursery and Landscape Association and served on TNLA Education Committee and Park & Patio Task Force. Dr. Gu was the Project Director of the multi-disciplinary multi-state Specialty Crop Research Initiative project ‘Systematic Strategies to Manage Crapemyrtle Bark Scale, An Emerging Exotic Pest’ [grant no. 2017-51181-26831/project accession no. 1013059]. Dr. Gu oversees the entire project, leading Objective 3 ‘Evaluate CMBS alternative hosts and feeding preference for future plant selection and development’ and Objective 5 ‘Develop 2-way information pipeline’, and collaborating on the other objectives.
