Dr. Hongmin Qin is the current project lead overseeing the entire CMBS project. Dr. Qin is an Professor in the Department of Biology at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. Dr. Qin is a cell biologist. She co-advised two Ph.D. students with Dr. Mengmeng Gu to unlock the mechanisms that govern the interactions between the host plants and the crape myrtle bark scale so that strategies can be developed for CMBS management and CMBS-resistant plant breeding.
